at the ground floor of the finlay building, the pastoral centre was designed to provide student counselling services, as well as a spiritual, community, and social discussion space.
the centre was formed by merging an old classroom with an office. it includes two smaller meeting rooms, a kitchenette, and a main congregation area.
a timber-framed ‘baldachin’ structure lined with deep-blue acoustic felt panels was installed centrally within the room. through its visual and acoustic qualities, it creates a calm but open space for school discussions.
